About IZWTAG Day
IZWTAG was founded in 2019 with the aim of assisting First Nations in British Columbia to implement Zero Waste programs. IZWTAG continues to develop its training opportunities and raises awareness about recycling programs for First Nations. Our annual conference offers Zero Waste solutions through economic cooperation, fosters inter-community solidarity and support, and bolsters participation in our quarterly training sessions.
Level 1 & 2 training courses are offered to Transfer Station/Eco Depot owners, operators, managers, and supervisors, as well as any technical staff responsible for site operations and maintenance from any Indigenous Nation in British Columbia. The Recycle Champion training course is offered to any Indigenous community members who are engaged in waste diversion in their communities. Champions who will develop personal adaptive resources, a support network and a passionate perspective on providing their communities with a recycling resource who will inspire waste reduction and diversion strategies at home.
